Super Grover: Ready For Action!

Is up and running! It seemed like an impossible task...but it has been accomplished.

We had a wonderful opening night on Friday followed by 3 shows yesterday...so we had to keep our opening night festivities on the DL for the most part...Jeff-O planned a wonderful reception with a chocolate fountain, cheese and crackers and drinks. Maybe not as healthy as the message behind our show...but TASTY!

Now on to our last show in Fargo and our first load out...we'll see how long that takes!

And then travelling Monday to Grand Rapids by bussing to Minneapolis (4 hours), flying to Chicago (1 hour air time) and then bussing to Grand Rapids (about another 3 hours)...

Tuesday...a complete day of rest...maybe?

WOW...

...this show is bigger than the last one.
Maybe it just seems that way...but I think that it's true.
That's all I gotta say.

Back on tour...

Well after 6 weeks at home, I'm back on tour and in Fargo, ND...there's another state to mark off my list...I think less than 10 to go!

What a fun travel day yesterday was!I was to fly from Cleveland to O'Hare and then catch another plane to Fargo...puddle-jumpers, both. Well...the flight from Cleveland to O'Hare was a puddle-jumper...and on time...off to a good start, right?

While waiting for the flight to Frago...the time was bumped back because they couldn't find a pilot...what?!? Well...a pilot was not found and so the flight was cancelled. So, everyone goes running over to the Customer Service counter. On the way to the counter I meet up with Gabe...our Crew Chief/Head Carpenter...we're in the same boat, so to speak. We are supposed to have a crew meeting at the hotel at 7PM...and the next flight to Fargo isn't until about that time...oh well. Anyhow, after waiting for an hour and a half in line, we make it to the counter...you know that 7PM flight? Yeah...no room. The next flight will be around 10AM tomorrow. Seeing as how we have to load in today, and Gabe needs to Rig at 8AM, that's not gonna work.

We figure that we can drive from Chicago to Fargo, but that will take around 10 hours. There's a flight to Minneapolis in a gate two concourses over...and they're starting to board. We'll take it! Minneapolis is only a 4 hour drive. We fly to Minneapolis in a nice big jet...yeah!

We got to Minneapolis and after a bit at the Gate counter after deplaneing, we find out that we can get a flight at 10:15PM to Fargo on Northwest (did I mention that the previous flights were United?)...but we got a flight. We had to go out to the ticketing to get our boarding passes...and since we've changed flights and have one-way tickets...we get to go through the extended screening process...fun! But we had time...so no problem. We then sat down and had a nice dinner while waiting for the flight to Fargo.

As we were waiting for the flight we saw the rest of our wayward United passengers making their way to the waiting area...they got a later flight from O'Hare to Minneapolis. Anyhow, got on the flight, and skirted a thunderstorm on the way to Fargo...it was neat to watch a thunderstorm from the air at night! We arrived in Fargo a little after 11PM...my luggage was there and we were picked up and got to the hotel by Midnight. Whew!

Oh...BTW, Gabe is a Priority Club member...or whatever the United membership program is...he was automatically routed to the later flight the next day which made switching his ticket a bit harder...and his luggage was kept in Chicago for the next day's flight...so he hasn't gotten his luggage yet...though he "knows" where it is. I guess membership has it's privledges...right?

Anyway...fun way to start a tour!
